LES PETITS MAITRES (The Minor Masters)

The Minor Masters were gifted artists who painted side-by-side with the great master painters, but because of their personal wealth or their desire for independence, they were not compelled to join the commercial circuit of their peers. They painted simply for the joy of painting.
